ISICO: A Biennial Conference Promoting Global Research Collaboration in Information Systems
In 2013, ISICO became the official affiliated conference of the Association for Information Systems (AIS) Indonesia Chapter, also known as AISINDO. This milestone was celebrated during ISICO 2013, with a commemorative event led by AIS Past President Professor Doug Vogel from City University, Hong Kong. Since then, AISINDO has grown significantly, now standing as the largest AIS Chapter in ASEAN by national membership.
ISICO’s philosophy is to foster research collaboration among IS researchers worldwide, with a focus on developing countries. It complements established conferences like PACIS, AMCIS, ICIS, and ECIS. In 2023, ISICO received 230 submissions from 23 countries, largely from Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand, highlighting its success as a platform for global partnerships, especially for unique case studies from developing nations.
This conference will explore how AI and machine learning are revolutionizing business processes and decision-making in modern enterprises. It will focus on the transformative impact of AI technologies on information systems, demonstrating how these tools can drive innovation, enhance operational efficiency, and support data-driven strategies. The sessions will highlight real-world applications, emerging trends, and best practices for integrating AI into various organizational settings.
ISICO 2025 is a hybrid conference that will be held virtually and on-site on Bali, Indonesia, on 04 – 06 August, 2025 to accommodate the uncertain global situation.
The two salient features of ISICO are the keynotes and Open Access Scopus-indexed Elsevier publication support. In terms of Keynotes Speakers, we regularly invite Global AIS President such as Prof. Douglas Vogel, Hong Kong (ISICO 2013), Prof Jaekyu Lee, Korea (ISICO 2015), Prof Matti Rossi, Finland (ISICO 2017), Prof. Brian Fitzgerald, Ireland (ISICO 2021), and Prof. Suprateek Sarker, US (ISICO 2023). In terms of publication, we have strong ties with Elsevier on a regular basis. The submitted paper will undergo at least double-blind, developmental reviews by the Scientific Committee. Final acceptance of approved camera-ready papers will be contingent on incorporating reviewers’ feedback to the satisfaction of the Editors-in-chief. In ISICO 2015-2023, the approved camera-ready papers were published under Procedia Computer Science (PCS) which is open and easily accessible at www.sciencedirect.com.
In Collaboration with the Asia-Pacific Symposium on Process and Artificial Intelligence (ASPAI’ 2025). ASPAI 2025 aims to bring together leading researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers to explore the latest advancements in process management, AI applications, and data-driven decision-making. This collaboration promises to enrich the conference experience by offering attendees a broader spectrum of knowledge-sharing and networking opportunities. By combining the strengths of both ASPAI 2025 and ISICO 2025, participants can engage with distinguished speakers from top universities and industries, fostering regional collaboration and academic exchange.
