ISICO: A Biennial Conference Promoting Global Research Collaboration in Information Systems
Organised by the Department of Information Systems, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), the Information Systems International Conference (ISICO) brings together researchers and practitioners to advance information systems theory and practice.
In 2013, ISICO became the official affiliated conference of the Association for Information Systems (AIS) Indonesia Chapter, known as AISINDO. This milestone was celebrated at ISICO 2013 through a commemorative event led by AIS Past President Professor Doug Vogel from City University of Hong Kong.
ISICO promotes international research collaboration, with particular attention to developing countries. It complements established conferences such as PACIS, AMCIS, ICIS, and ECIS by providing a platform for diverse perspectives and context-specific research. In 2023, ISICO received 230 submissions from 23 countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand.
The Ninth ISICO 2027 carries the theme “Advancing Information Systems from AI Innovation to Impact for Business and Society”
The Ninth ISICO 2027 will explore how advances in AI and information systems can translate into meaningful outcomes for organisations and communities. Moving from technological innovation to practical impact, the conference will highlight research that improves decision-making, transforms business processes, strengthens organisational resilience, and addresses societal challenges.
Topics include intelligent decision support, generative AI, human–AI collaboration, digital transformation, responsible AI, and information systems for sustainability. The conference welcomes both technical and organisational perspectives, encouraging dialogue on the design, implementation, adoption, and evaluation of information systems.
ISICO 2027 is planned for 26–27 July 2027. The venue and participation format will be announced.
Keynote Speakers and Publication.
ISICO has a tradition of featuring distinguished international scholars, including AIS leaders such as Professor Doug Vogel (2013), Professor Jaekyu Lee (2015), Professor Matti Rossi (2017), Professor Brian Fitzgerald (2021), and Professor Suprateek Sarker (2023). The ISICO 2027 keynote speakers will be announced as they are confirmed. Submitted papers will undergo double-blind peer review by the Scientific Committee, with constructive feedback to support research quality. Final acceptance will depend on satisfactory revisions and compliance with the conference’s camera-ready requirements.
ISICO has an established publication history with Elsevier’s open-access Procedia Computer Science. Accepted and presented papers for ISICO 2027 are expected to be published in conference proceedings and indexed in Scopus, subject to confirmation of publication arrangements, the publisher’s requirements, and Scopus evaluation.
